One Piece

The one-piece bikini covers your torso, except back or upper chest. You will have more support and your body will feel protect to any movement.

This type is increased use in competitions because the aerodynamic and shape allows you to move quickly without showing any personal part of your body. But, since people are open to experimenting with all fashion types, they are creating pieces of art.

Some of the one piece costumes can be connected only by one stream leaving part of your body without covering.

As you can see in the photos leopard print bikinis can have different colours such as yellow, orange, brown, to help your style looks fantastic.

Tankini / Trikini

The tankini is also known as two pieces too because it is covering your breast and belly to your bottom. Of course, you will find collections where only covers your breast and bottom, at the same time that is matching one to the other or playing with different patterns.

This swimming costume will make you feel unique from the rest of plain bikinis as the leopard print pattern will cover your intimate parts and you will feel the animal that you have inside taken control of your body.

One variation of the tankini is the trikini compose for two triangles to cover the breast and a bikini bottom. It is called trikini because each part adds three.

Rash Guard / Wetsuits / Drysuits

The rash guard is a swimming costume made to be resistant to waves. It is usually a shirt made of spandex and nylon simulating a shirt. This swimsuit has been used for surfers in warm weather so they can be protected from the sun and salt from the sea. People with skin problems used rash guards so the can enjoy swimming with protection.

We consider the leopard print is the complement for your surfing live because it is different from the normal neoprene with one colour, it will help you to be identify by everybody when you are swinging the waves.

This type can be confused with wetsuits and drysuits but these are made to keep your body temperature. So you can choose different thickness depends on where you are going to swim from the cold Antarctic or the warm tropical. Another characteristic is they are made of neoprene most of the time because isolate your body from the water temperature.

You can also categorise tops such us, Sport, Triangle, Bandeau, Flounce, Tie-Front, Fringe, High-Neck, Halter Top, T Back, Ripple, Longline, One-Shoulder and bottoms such us, Cheeky-Cut, High-Cut, High-Waisted, Side-Tie, Scoop, Full-Coverage, Ruched, Sling, Thong, Skirtini,  if you want to be more precise. We will write more about all these types if you request to know more about them.

In conclusion, you have a lot of types and collections of swimsuits that you can choose. We have explained a few of them about how much body they cover, shapes, names, even materials. We hope this information is useful.

Five most common bikini fabrics

We consider you should check what leopard print swimsuit material you are going to purchase and what are the benefits of them. The bikini has various functions such us, look nice on you and protect yourself from the water (chlorine or sea salt) and sun and comfort. So it is important for you to know that nylon and polyester are not the only options for bikinis.

Nylon

First, you have nylon blends, a fabric used in fashion by most of the designers’ interns of bikinis. Nylon is not very stretching material because doesn’t have tensile properties, but is going to keep the animal prints and colours the same as when you buy it.

What I mean is the material is going to have a really nice pattern and it is not going to lose the colour intensity or shape when you are wearing it. Designers are aware of this limit so they blend nylon with lycra so you can have more mobility and elasticity, so you can feel comfortable when is around your body.

Another great characteristic to be chosen is because it is a soft fabric and usually dry very quickly.

Polyester

The second fabric is polyester blends, one of the most strong synthetic fibres made by monofilament extruding.

This cloth material is becoming more and more popular by athletics and professional because of their resistant when you are in a competition. But you can find already a great fit design that supports your breast and bottom and make you look amazing.

The polyester is a man-made fabric synthetic that got some cons for example, it is not breathing, so the air cannot move through it so your moisture wouldn’t evaporate easily. In bikinis, you wouldn’t necessarily worry too much about sweating because it is a small material to keep the sweat and make you feel uncomfortable.

These fabric pros are a good stretchy and flexible material, so it moves with you at any position, it is resistant to any chlorine or sea water, the printed colours are vibrantly staying as never worn before.

Cotton

The third fabric is cotton. I wouldn’t recommend cotton material for a bikini because you are going to get wet and it will take a long time to dry and can be really heavy. It is true that the patterns and prints look fantastic but it is not very practical.

This is a natural fibre very soft and you can wash in your washing machine and it will absorb all the liquid. After you wash the bikini or get wet can fades, bleeds, wrinkle and shrink.

Lycra or spandex or elastane

The fourth fabric is Lycra made for stretchy and resistant movements. Basically, lycra is a variation of polyester (polyester-polyurethane copolymer) but more resistance to body oil.

This material is non-absorbent to water so it will dry super quickly after you take a swim. We have realised that lycra can be confused with spandex or elastane. The summary is all three are the same, the only difference is related to who create the mane and in which country are you referring to. The elastane o lycra is very moldable so the designers can make different shapes to help the bikini to support your body better.

Cotton-poly

The Cotton-poly is the combination of cotton and polyester with a mix of spandex. So you can have in one bikini the benefits of all the categories at ones. The bathing suits are going to be softer because of the cotton, resistant to water and chlorine because of polyester and flexible and stretchy because of the spandex or elastane.

Do you need to know about the Ultraviolet Protection Factor (UPF)?

The answer to this question is yes, you should be aware of the ultraviolet A and B rays. Leopard prints recommended products that are made to protect your skin from UVA and UVB light. You can find if the product is against UVa and UVB light in the label or in the description of it.

The Ultraviolet Protection Factor (UPF) is categorised 0 to 100 meaning “0” the material is not protecting you from the sun radiation and 100 its’s protecting you the most. When you are looking for a bikini we advise to choose 2% of radiation thought so this number translates to a swimsuit with a UPF of 50 or more.
